First, Let Me Tell You How I Got Here

About Me...

My interests are in Intestinal Health, Colon Hydrotherapy, Herbology, Photography, Dance and Sports.

I have 28 years experience as a licensed Colon Hydrotherapist in Miami, Florida and Tucson, Arizona. I am certified in Massage Therapy and Colon Hydrotherapy from the Florida School of Massage Therapy in Gainesville, Florida (1978) with additional studies in Colon Hydrotherapy at Lindsey Hopkins School of Massage in Miami FL I am a member of International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT) and the National Board for Colon Hydrotherapy. I am an I-ACT certified Instructor. Additional training includes beginning levels of Chi Nei Tsang and Mayr Technique. I have consistently given talks and written articles in the field.

In March of 2004, the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education granted me a conditional license to teach and certify in the field of Colon Hydrotherapy. In April of 2005, I received my regular license from the Arizona State Board. I offer the 100-hour Certification Program in Foundations of Colon Hydrotherapy in Tucson AZ.

I have studied Herbology for 30 years from such teachers as Susun Weed, Michael Moore, Peter Bigfoot, John Christopher and local Tucson teachers Jesse Emerson and Pam Hyde-Nakai. In 1989, I began to photograph the flowers and wildflowers of Arizona and other geographic areas. The photos are a beautiful and educational database of plants.

My recovery from a 40-year struggle to overcome eating disorders has lead me through a microscopic examination of diet and nutrition and what's best for me and others. It has opened me to a vast panorama of possibility within each person and has given me great insight into 'diet' in general. I bring this knowledge of diet, nutrition and herbs into my clinical practice and School of Colon Hydrotherapy.

My education includes a BA in Political Science and History from Trinity College in Washington DC and an MA in Education from Stanford University. After graduate school, I taught at the International School in Santiago, Chile and developed a now rusty fluency in Spanish. I have completed Post Graduate Studies at the University of Innsbruck in Austria and Florida State University in Tallahassee FL. I have also completed Financial and Management Training at Citigroup in New York City NY in 1972 and worked in their Agribusiness department as an account officer until 1976.

Receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Arizona in 1994 was a turning point in my life. It revealed the abdomen as the core of movement. It brought more confirmation of the central role of the intestines in all levels of health as well as artistic statement. It reinforced a "body knowledge" that transcends the purely mental. It opened the path for a pure integration of body, mind and soul. It complemented my work in Colon Hydrotherapy and Photography. It supported me to express myself fully and with feeling.

In service of my Tucson community, I served 4 years on the board of Southern Arizona Hiking Club and 2 years on the Dance Advisory Board at the University of Arizona. I have memberships in various clubs such as Sierra, Arizona Native Plant Society, Tucson Mac Users Group (TMUG), Southern Arizona Hiking Club, Southern Arizona Paddlers Club and KXCI, our community radio station. http://www.kxci.org

In 1996, I set up a website dedicated to creating a global dialogue on Intestinal Health, Colon Hydrotherapy and Eating Disorder issues. I offer a free newsletter, provide educational articles and maintain exciting correspondence through my website, an electronic continuation of my communication history and desire. Books on Eating Disorders and Intestinal Health are forthcoming. Be in touch! The website and this exciting field continue to metamorphose.
